I was out thrifting and I was lucky to find this french chair on the cheap. I am not sure how old it is or who the maker is. One thing I do know is that it is a well made chair and very sturdy. I am not sure if I should pay someone to recover it because the uphlostry is in pretty bad shape. I was told it would be about $150.00 to recover. I could problaby do it myself. Not sure what to do except I would like to give her a fresh coat of Old White Chalk Paint. Tell me what you think. Any ideas on the color of fabric?

Nice chair. You can see it has springs in the seat. I strongly recommend a professional to deal with the upholstery work unless you are exceedingly good at this kind of work. The chair looks to me to be from around 1920. You may want to keep the original finish. I've used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and waxes and really like them. Where I live, I can't get a chair reupholstered for under $275. If springs need to be retied or replaced it will be more. Also more for dealing with the nailheads. I hope you will show photos of what you decide to do with this chair.
